My yoga practice began in 2004 in Kuwait after the birth of my oldest son. I was looking for a way to get back into shape while cultivating some balance in my life. I studied Ashtanga Yoga both privately with my teacher and independently for a decade before I decided to take my practice to the next level.
By the time my family had grown to five, and we had returned from life in the Middle East and settled back home in Austin, Texas. I studied privately with Shanti Kelley for two years, and during that time I completed my 500 hour advanced training in Alignment Based Vinyasa Yoga. I continue to deepen my practice through advanced studies in Yoga Therapy, Metaphysic and Tantra Yoga, and in my daily interaction with care teams in professional settings. I currently am a Yoga Therapist at Seton Hospital servicing the cardiac rehabilitation unit. I consider Richard Miller, Nischala Joy Devi, Leslie Kaminoff, and Monique Lonner to have been my most influential teachers.
I teach public classes in Austin, Texas, I teach corporate classes and private classes as my schedule permits, and I host workshops and retreats. This spring I opened my first yoga studio on the campus of ACC at Highland. Our 2,400 square foot facility offers daily vinyasa classes, specialty classes, yoga therapy, and yoga teacher training. Our classes, yoga therapy sessions, and workshops are all be donation based. I’m excited about the unfolding expereince and grateful for all that brought me here.
