Welcome to the MVP Yoga Therapy Clinic

Our team of Yoga Therapists are committed to supporting individuals, families, and small groups in holistic health and healing. We specialize in treating chronic pain, sleep disorders, trauma, mental health imbalances, body image issues, digestive disorders, and physical misalignments. We can also support you through life transitions, resolving blockages, and promoting self-actualization.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is a form of whole person care that focuses on the individual’s mental, emotional, physical, and environmental health. It is an ancient therapeutic modality that incorporates a broad range of tools and techniques such as yoga asana, breathwork, mantra, meditation, and more. Yoga Therapy aims to address the root cause of imbalance and disorder in order to restore total health and wellness. Yoga Therapists are trained to provide individualized care and personalized health plans.

Starting Your Yoga Therapy Journey

Step 1: Book a Free 15 Minute Phone Consultation

Talk to one of our skilled team members about your goals, and we will match you with a Yoga Therapist. Have someone in mind already? Just let us know! Our Yoga Therapists are available online and in person at our two clinic locations in Austin, Texas.

Step 2: Schedule Your Intake Session

During your consultation, we can help you schedule your first yoga therapy session. Here, your Yoga Therapist will ask you about your health history, present issues, and future goals. They will provide a detailed assessment of your current state of health and recommendations to move towards balance.

Step 3: Work Your Plan

After your intake session, you will receive a 4-6 week integrative wellness plan with recommendations, practices, and treatments to support your goals. Your Yoga Therapist will provide ongoing support as you work your plan.

Step 4: Follow Up with Your Yoga Therapist

Schedule a follow-up with your Yoga Therapist within 4-6 weeks of your initial intake. We are here to support you throughout your health journey and can adapt your plan any time.

We recommend that new clients commit to a total of 4 sessions within the first four months of working with their Yoga Therapist. We offer a new client package to help you kickstart your journey.

Michelle is a highly experienced and dedicated yoga therapist and instructor with expertise in education, health and wellness, nutrition, yoga therapy, and yoga. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to her practice.

Michelle is also a certified Yoga Therapist, Ayurvedic Nutritionist, and Mindfulness Coach, providing her clients with a holistic approach to support their transformational journey. As an E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and C-IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapy) Yoga Therapist, Michelle specializes in working with individuals in eating recovery and cardiac rehabilitation. Her extensive training in Yoga, mindfulness, Ayurveda, nutrition, and biochemistry provides her with a deep understanding of these specific areas.

With a strong educational foundation and a commitment to ongoing professional development, Michelle continues to expand her knowledge in yoga therapy, Ayurveda, spiritual coaching, metaphysics, and tantra yoga. This comprehensive approach allows her to bring a well-rounded and integrative perspective to her teaching, helping individuals discover the profound mind-body-spirit connections that yoga can foster.

Meet Tara Cleven, a dedicated yoga therapist with a passion for helping individuals overcome trauma, anxiety, and depression. Tara’s extensive training includes certification as a yoga therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and over 500 hours of training as a Registered Yoga Teacher with My Vinyasa Practice. She’s also certified in trauma-sensitive yoga and has additional expertise in Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine.

Tara specializes in working with those who’ve experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression, and her approach centers on creating a safe and nurturing environment. She believes that yoga can be a powerful tool for self-regulation, stress reduction, and embodied experience. Tara offers personalized one-on-one sessions and group classes, tailoring yoga to suit the unique needs of each individual.

In her sessions, Tara combines gentle movements, breath work, mindfulness practices, and guided meditation to help clients reconnect with their bodies and emotions. She fosters a supportive space for self-reflection and self-care, empowering her clients to play an active role in their healing journey.

Ana Pilar (she/her) is a seasoned yoga therapist and yoga teacher with 23 years of experience in the field.  A long-time student of Gary Kraftsow (founder of the American Viniyoga Institute) and the Viniyoga lineage, Ana Pilar was grandfathered into IAYT as a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and holds both an Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher 500 (E-RYT 500) and Yoga Alliance Continued Education Provider (YACEP) through Yoga Alliance.  

Ana Pilar specializes in Yoga Therapy for Structural Integration & Neuromuscular Repatterning, and Anxiety & Stress Management.  She creates a trauma informed container to cultivate a safe environment for her clients to find a transformative and somatic healing in their individual embodied experience.  She incorporates cognitive reframing, breathwork, and adaptive therapeutic movement to facilitate healing and growth.

Ana Pilar is non-judgemental, approachable and easily puts clients at ease with her sense of humor and storytelling skills. She aims for each individual client to see the beauty and uniqueness in their own lived experience and heal themselves for the betterment of themselves, their community and the world at large.

Kaytee Hernandez (she/her) is a Latinx Yoga Therapist, Yoga Teacher, and Childrens Yoga Teacher with a passion for holistic health and well-being. Yoga has been a transformative and healing journey for Kaytee. The tools she has learned have helped her digest trauma, grief, and loss and fall in love with life again.

Kaytee specializes in Yoga Therapy for Mental Health, Addiction Recovery, and Trauma Healing for Children and Adults. She takes a trauma-informed approach, working with clients to cultivate trust within the therapeutic relationship over time. 

Kaytee is down-to-earth, non-judgmental, and approachable. She has a wealth of experience working in clinical settings and private practice with individuals and in small groups. Her ultimate aim is to empower clients to become their own healer through education, support, and passing along the many tools in her toolbox. Tina Hilbert is a highly qualified and dedicated therapist with over 25 years of experience in the holistic alternative healing community. She holds credentials as a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher 500 (E-RYT 500), Yoga Alliance Continued Education Provider (YACEP), Yoga Alliance Lead Trainer, and Level 3 Hot Yoga Teacher.

Tina’s therapeutic approach is rooted in the principles of alignment from B.K.S. Iyengar, Kundalini yogic technology, My Vinyasa Practice method, and the Bishnu Ghosh Yoga Therapy lineage. She integrates the eight-fold path of yoga into her sessions, creating a holistic and transformative experience for her clients. Tina collaborates closely with her clients, tailoring her approach to their unique needs and goals. She incorporates specific techniques such as MVP compassionate self-forgiveness, mindfulness coaching, breathwork, and gentle movement to facilitate healing and growth.

Tina specializes in trauma-informed reframing and has completed a Clinical Yoga Therapy certification program. She profoundly understands trauma’s impact on the mind and body and provides a safe and compassionate space for healing and empowerment. Her expertise extends to working with individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, and inner relationship challenges. Additionally, Tina has experience supporting individuals on their journey to overcome unhealthy attachments. Clients can trust Tina’s ability to address their specific needs effectively, as she combines her extensive training with years of practical experience. She is dedicated to guiding her clients toward optimal well-being and personal transformation.

    Ali’s journey with yoga therapy started when she encountered a health crisis that left her searching for answers. The transformative effects of yoga immediately resonated with her, drawing her deeper into its practice. She witnessed a remarkable improvement in her physical and mental well-being through consistent dedication to asana (posture), pranayama (breath), and meditation. The debilitating pain, relentless fatigue, and persistent brain fog that had plagued her existence began to subside gradually. This newfound clarity of mind and revitalized body ignited a profound desire within Ali to extend the healing power of yoga to others.

    With her extensive training, Ali is a seasoned E-500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher who focuses on breath-centered asana in gentle, healing, and restorative yoga practices. She was inspired by and trained in the tradition of T.K.V. Desikachar. She understands that each individual’s journey is unique, and her specialized approach caters to her client’s specific needs and limitations. 

    Recognizing the value of a holistic approach to healing, Ali has also earned certification as an IAYT Yoga Therapist. Armed with her knowledge and personal experience, she is committed to guiding others on their own transformative paths, offering solace and empowerment through the ancient wisdom of yoga therapy. Ali’s ultimate goal is to foster an environment of healing, growth, and self-discovery, allowing her clients to find balance and well-being in their lives.

      Lara is a heartfelt Yoga Therapist and Yoga Teacher who is passionate about helping individuals integrate the practice of Yoga into their everyday experiences. Lara is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and IAYT-certified Yoga Therapist and has a variety of additional certifications, including those related to Restorative, Yin, and Trauma-Informed Yoga. Lara specializes in Yoga Therapy for mental health and has worked with clients who have a variety of life experiences and challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, recovery, and pain/injury management.

      Lara utilizes many of the practices found in Yoga to help clients find balance and attain ease amidst life’s circumstances. Within each session, you can expect different forms of movement/postures, meditation, breath work, mantra/vibration/sound, and skilled-based work, with each session carefully crafted to adapt to the moment at hand. She aims to create and uphold a safe container so her clients feel empowered to experience Yoga as it relates to their individual healing journey, with plenty of room to adapt and grow along the way.

      Yoga has been instrumental in changing Lara’s life, and she uses her call-to-action, “Shine with Lara,” as a welcoming gesture so you can work together to “find what lights you up!”
