Heartfelt Consciousness – The MVP Podcast
MVP has an exciting new feature for you. We started a podcast! Hosted by our very own Laura Bender, Heartfelt Consciousness seeks to have “mindfully authentic conversations of yoga on and off the mat to awaken and inspire the spirit.”
Laura is an E-RYT-200, RYT-500, YACEP Yoga instructor, Meditation Teacher, Mindfulness Coach, Aromatherapist, and Reiki Master having special interest in Yin, Yoga Nidra, and Restorative Yoga with multiple class offerings throughout the week. She loves connecting with students on and off the mat, most recently with podcasting! One of her big Yang interests is running, and is currently training for her 10th half marathon.
You can catch new episodes on Mondays at this link. Be sure to subscribe so that you never miss an uplifting and enlightening episode.
We wanted to get the details on the new podcast so we asked Laura a few questions that we’ve shared below.
MVP: How did the idea for an MVP podcast come about?
LB: I have/had a podcast of my own that I had been working on for the past several months, after speaking with Michelle a couple months ago and with the suggestion of a couple of my peers and managers they felt I would be a great fit for this role.
MVP: What can we expect from upcoming episodes of Heartfelt Consciousness?
LB: I am beyond excited to introduce some of my upcoming guests. I have expert instructors in Yoga Nidra, Mindfulness Meditation, Sound Healing and touching on topics of Resilience, Authenticity and so much more!
MVP: What does “mindfully authentic conversations” mean to you?
LB: For years I’ve always been aligned with authenticity. It’s been a staple core value of mine. Integration of the practice of mindfulness offers us time to look inward without judgement revealing our true nature, our spirit. I wanted to allow this podcast to offer an extension of that, having those thoughtful conversations with others, offering a glimpse of what’s really inside.
MVP: In the first episode of the podcast “Trusting the Process”, you mention that yoga off the mat is your “jam.” 🙂 Can you recommend one practice that has been impactful in your own life?
LB: Ha ha! I have to say my growth in my Meditation practice – specifically Mindfulness Meditation and Metta. Mindfulness Meditation has offered me so much clarity over the past several months, revealing the limiting beliefs I once carried deep within and permitting me to offer myself the forgiveness, compassion, gentleness, kindness and love that I needed to move forward.
We hope you enjoy the new Heartfelt Consciousness Podcast from My Vinyasa Practice. Check out our next episode, Monday, February 1, 2021 on Resilience featuring Kasey Kellem – available wherever you listen to podcasts.
